Selecting Body Building Routines

When if comes to body building routines, people are always looking for the very best routines that they can find. This should come as no surprise. After all, who would wish to start a regular exercise program based on inferior training methods? It would be completely illogical to use a mediocre training regime with the hopes that it will yield highly desirable results.

In order to arrive at the ‘best’ training program, there is a common desire to replicate the body building routines of famous bodybuilders. Is there anything inherently wrong with copycatting the body building routines of famous former Mr. Olympia winners such as Frank Zane, Franco Colombo or Mike Mentzer? No, but there needs to be a little common sense applied to this replication process.

First of all, there is far more involved with becoming a Mr. Olympia than just duplicating an exercise program of a famous person. Just because a particular workout program works for one person does not mean that someone else using the same body building routine will achieve the same results. If that was the case, then there would only be one body building routine! There simply would not need to be a variety of body building routines.

Therefore, it is imperative to examine the various body building routines that have been successful in terms of building mass and toning muscles and mix and match various routines in order to find the particular routine that works for you. In a way, it becomes important to tailor a programs frequency, intensity and stress level to that which is acceptable to you. A person off the street is not going to be able to perform an advanced Lou Ferigno workout. It just is not going to happen! So, use a little common sense in your pursuits and mix, match and select body building routines based on functionality and not from an inadvertent celebrity endorsement.
